Giving back to the childcare industry
Monday, 19 January 2009
Creating the best early childhood education system is incredibly important for both children and families, as well as for the thousands of dedicated childcare workers across the country.
The Queensland Government recognises just how important access to quality childcare is for the future of Queensland, so steps have been taken to support childcare workers.
With a new emphasis on quality and ongoing professional development for childcare workers, a joint Commonwealth, States and Territories initiative is providing $8.5 million to support those who wish to gain a vocational education and training qualification in early childhood.
In Queensland funding will be used in 2009 to support removal of tuition fees for childcare diplomas and advanced diplomas, delivered by TAFE institutes.
Anyone, including existing childcare workers, who wants to become qualified or to upgrade their qualification can enrol in a Diploma of Children's Services and Advanced Diploma of Children's Services, and have their tuition fees paid.
TAFE childcare providers across the State are being encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to create the best early childhood education centre in their community.
To take advantage of this unbelieve offer and for more information call Metropolitan South TAFE on 1300 657 613.
