Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
If you are an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, you can provide advice from DEST that Abstudy has been approved, or a declaration from the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community group or from our Institute Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander officer.
Instalment plans
When the total amount of tuition, student amenities and material fees payable is greater than $75, students may apply for time to pay.
The Student fee payment plan form [DOC 151kb] must be completed prior to enrolling. Where an application is approved, a series of instalments will be generated with consideration given to the length of the course (weekly, fortnightly, and monthly options are available). The first instalment is payable at the time of enrolment.
Time to pay will not be approved where students have outstanding fees from a previous enrolment and where students have a history of bad debt or irregular repayment.
Students will be sent a monthly statement of amounts owing. Students with instalments overdue by 60 days or more will be referred to a registered debt collection agency.
Students who withdraw from classes will be liable for payment of the remainder of their instalment plan if they are not eligible for a refund (see section on refunds). Students who wish to apply for cancellation of the balance of their instalment need to make application via a request for refund form [DOC 295kb]. Written notification will be provided if a student is ineligible for cancellation of the balance of their instalment.
Outstanding or overdue fees
If you have outstanding or overdue payments to the Institute, you may not be eligible to:
-
undertake or submit assessment
-
continue study
-
enrol into further study with the Institute
-
borrow items from the library
-
attend the Institute graduation ceremony (for graduation applicable programs).
Course cancellations
Where the Institute cancels a government-funded subject or ACE course before it starts, then fees will be refunded in full.
Refund policy
TAFE Queensland has a refund policy, which is available on enrolment for new students.
Students wishing to apply for a refund may make an application via a request for refund form [DOC 295kb]. A processing fee will apply if a refund is payable. If you are not eligible for a refund, the Institute will provide written notification.
