Certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping)
(Online Skills Recognition Program)
This online and blended learning program is designed to provide skills recognition for existing contract bookkeepers and employees performing in the role of bookkeeper for organisations who perform duties such as:
- establishing and maintaining accounting systems
- assisting with Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other taxes
- payroll
- developing management systems for organisations

The program allows existing workers to have their skills assessed and matched with a qualification to gain industry accreditation in compliance with the new Tax Agent Services Act including the new “Registered BAS Agent” minimum educational requirement. Participants may also undertake a personalised gap training program online if they are unable to demonstrate all competencies required.

Entry Requirements Participants must complete the online pre-assessment at www.msit.tafe.qld.gov.au/rpl.php to apply for this program.

This course is designed to recognise the skills and knowledge of existing workers in the financial services sector.

Participants are required to have a sound knowledge in book keeping principles and computer skills.

Students under 17 years of age must meet enrolment requirements as specified in the Education (General Provisions Act) 2006.
Program Duration 12 weeks per RPL enrolment and 26 weeks for Blended Delivery/GAP Training enrolments.

Participants must complete a total of 13 units; 4 Industry Core, 7 Sectoral Core and 2 electives.

Each RPL unit may take between 2 and 3 hours to answer the questions in detail, upload relevant evidence documentation and provide authenticity from a supervisor/colleague or client.

Blended Delivery may take participants from 10 to 50 hours to complete each unit depending on their existing knowledge base.

Queensland residents will pay between $1,533 and $2,121 depending on existing skills and knowledge.

Interstate students and full Fee For Service costs are:
$175.00 per unit RPL online
$250.00 per unit Blended Delivery/GAP Training where Learning Guides will be posted to you, and supporting materials and assessment will be available online through My.TAFE
