Credit for prior study
If you have significant experience or qualifications gained overseas you may be able to get credit for your prior learning.MSIT Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) [PDF 1.2mb] allows you to have your current skills, knowledge and qualifications assessed to determine if they meet Australian industry standards, which means you may not have to study the whole program. You may acheive a full or partial credit towards your program of study.
MSIT can assist you with the credit process by putting you in contact with the Australian Education International National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition. This office provides official information and advice on the comparability of overseas qualifications with Australian qualifications.

If you apply for RPL after the commencement of your course, it may affect the duration of your student visa.
