"Originally from the UK, I have been working in the hairdressing industry for 30 years as a technician but I was keen to update my styling and cutting skills. I really wanted to live and travel in Australia and I knew hairdressing would give me the flexibility to be able to do just that!
"I researched a lot of colleges offering hairdressing and found the course offered at Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE was perfect for me.
"The course takes only one year to complete and is flexible enough to allow students to concentrate on certain skill areas of interest. The teachers are very supportive and offer one-on-one help where needed. I've thoroughly enjoyed the course and would definitely recommend it to others.
"Metropolitan South TAFE also has a fully operational training salon which is a great way to learn how to work within a salon environment. The teachers are always on hand and have a wealth of knowledge and recent industry experience".
